The Visa Application Centre of the People's Republic of China has announced the following change to the visa application process for China in Germany:
Effective immediately, fingerprints of all visa applicants must again be taken when applying for a visa. This applies to all consulate locations in Germany.
Exempt from this regulation are:1. persons under the age of 14 or over the age of 70.
2. holders of diplomatic passports or persons who are exempt from fingerprinting under bilateral agreements.
3. persons who have applied for a Chinese visa with the same passport and whose fingerprints have already been taken within the last 5 years can be exempted from the regulation. However, the biometric visa issued must be presented in the same passport.
4. persons who have finger restrictions or persons who cannot be fingerprinted on all 10 fingers for other reasons.
Please note that all applicants must come to the Visa Application Service Centre in person to be fingerprinted.
Please note that all Visa Application Service Centre locations in Germany currently have reduced opening hours and an appointment for fingerprinting must be made in advance with the Visa Application Service Centre.
Furthermore, a COVID-19 vaccination certificate / EU digital vaccination certificate must currently be presented in all locations. This document must be sent in advance to the responsible Visa Application Service Centre for verification. Please note that the other pandemic-related restrictions are still valid!
